Pop star Lily Allen has been arrested for kung-fu kicking a member of the paparazzi earlier this year. Allen allegedly beat up photographers outside a London nightclub, kicking and punching at least two of the photographers. She was formally arrested and questioned by police regarding the scuffle. Photographer Kevin Rush said at the time of the alleged attack, “She went berserk.” Allen was released on bail from the police station after providing officers with her fingerprints, a DNA sample and a photograph. A spokesperson for London’s Metropolitan Police would not confirm that it was Allen who was arrested. The spokesperson only said, “A 21-year-old woman was arrested over an allegation of assault and released on bail to return in late July.
Britney Spears hand delivered a lawyer’s letter to her estranged mother, but it’s not a restraining order, according to inside sources. Spears reportedly fell out with her mother Lynne earlier this year for being ‘pushed’ into rehab after months of hard partying following her split from husband Kevin Federline. Spears was spotted visiting a Valencia, California movie set where her younger sister Jamie Lynn is currently working, and was seen handing over a document to her mother while exchanging a few brief words. Then she stormed back to her car. Various Media reports alleged Spears was serving her mother with a restraining order, but sources say it is actually a letter from Spear’s lawyer. Spears could not legally deliver such an order if she was the one seeking it. Reportedly, the letter was a blunt request to Lynne to keep her distance from Britney’s two young sons, if she is on medication that could “impair her ability to be around them.”
Kristy Swanson has denied claims she is a “homewrecker”, insisting she did not break up her partner Lloyd Eisler’s marriage to ex-wife Marcia O’Brien. Swanson and O’Brien were both arrested and questioned by police following a physical confrontation in Ontario, Canada earlier this month. Swanson has since filed assault charges against O’Brien claiming she was attacked by her and was the only victim in the fight. She says, “She attacked me, and I am confident that after the investigation is complete, the truth will come out. Her allegations that I attacked her are completely false.” Eisler and Swanson caused a scandal when they started dating while co-starring in TV talent show ‘Skating With Celebrities,’ while Eisler was still married to O’Brien, who was then pregnant with the couple’s second child. Swanson insists she is not a homewrecker. She adds, “Lloyd and Marcia were separated before I ever met him; I did not break up the marriage. After the show was over it hit me, ‘Wow, that person had a drastic effect on me!’ Changes had to be made, and I chose to make them.” Eisler divorced O’Brien in January, a month before Swanson gave birth to their son.

Prosecutors withdrew charges against a celebrity photographer accused of planting a listening device outside Nicole Kidman’s home. Jamie Fawcett was charged in January 2005 with possessing and using a listening device after he allegedly was spotted planting the bug near a sidewalk outside Kidman’s Sydney home. The New South Wales state Department of Public Prosecutions withdrew all charges against Fawcett in Sydney’s Local Court. The reasons for the decision were not immediately clear.”I’m naturally happy,” Fawcett said outside the court. “I didn’t think that there was any reason to bring the charges in the first place.” After he was charged, a Sydney court ordered Fawcett to provide a DNA sample to compare with samples allegedly found on the listening device.Fawcett appealed and the court ruled that he could not be forced to provide police with a DNA sample since there was no evidence he had violated any law. In 2005, Kidman reached an out-of-court settlement with Fawcett and fellow Sydney-based photographer Ben McDonald after she was granted a temporary restraining order against the pair.
The recently released arrest report written after the California Highway Patrol arrested Vivica A. Fox for DUI in March revealed she called the arresting officer a racist and asked his partner for help. The officer says in the report, after she was stopped, “Fox began to walk away, yelling at my partner, ‘Brother help a sister. Are you going to let this racist white cop do this, well are you?’” In the section of the report in which the officers are asked to describe the demeanor of the person they’re arresting, the officer wrote “demeaning.” Things got volatile enough that a patrol sergeant was called to the scene. Daniel Laubscher, the officer who wrote the report, and who Fox called “racist,” is white. The other officer, called “brother” by Fox, is Sam Dealba, and he’s Hispanic. Fox was taken to the station where a breath test was administered. The report reads, “Fox then burped quite loudly and I then aborted the test.” She was also advised she could take off her 3-4 inch high heeled spiked boots, but “she told me she was a dancer and felt more comfortable wearing them.” Fox has been charged with one count of DUI and one count of driving while impaired. She registered a .09, just over the .08 legal limit. If convicted, Fox faces a maximum of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
Lindsay Lohan was allegedly drunk and had cocaine in her system during an early morning accident in Beverly Hills on Memorial Day weekend. According to multiple law enforcement sources, toxicology reports conclude that Lohan had “nearly twice the legal limit” of alcohol and traces of cocaine in her bloodstream when she crashed her 2005 Mercedes convertible into a curb on Sunset Blvd. around 5:30 AM on May 26. In California, drivers with a .08 or higher are legally drunk. Police say Lohan and two other adults were in the car at the time of the accident. After the crash, she was taken to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries, then placed under arrest on suspicion of DUI. Police later said they found a “usable amount” of cocaine in the car. The Beverly Hills Police Dept. could present the case to the Los Angeles District Attorney as early as today.

‘ER’ star John Stamos has publicly apologized for his behavior before the Australian media after severe jet-lag left him exhausted and unfit for interviews. Stamos upset journalists with his sloppy attire and sleepy demeanor during interviews staged to promote the new season of ‘ER Down Under.’ Insiders claim that TV executives were so unimpressed with Stamos’ attitude, they cancelled a string of interviews scheduled for this week and sent him home. In a statement, Stamos’ publicist says, “John has been travelling extensively for the past few weeks in Greece, Egypt and Tokyo and had a difficult time adjusting to the time difference in Australia, which, in turn, led to many sleepless nights. He acknowledges that his behavior was completely out of character during these interviews and apologizes.”
Tom Sizemore’s 16-month prison sentence for violating probation in a previous drug case was dramatically reduced. He acknowledged during a court appearance that he had violated his probation. Superior Court Judge Cynthia Rayvis gave Sizemore 213 days of credit for time he has already spent in jail and two live-in drug programs, leaving him with about nine months in state prison. “Sizemore will likely serve about 4 1/2 months of that,” said Deputy District Attorney Sean Carney. Sizemore, who has been in jail without bail since June 5, wasn’t in court. The judge ordered the sentence after authorities said they discovered methamphetamine in Sizemore’s car and arrested him in Bakersfield, California last month. Sizemore was charged with seven drug-related counts, including transportation and possession of methamphetamines and being under the influence of a controlled substance. He faces up to six years in prison if convicted of all the newest charges.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca, who released Paris Hilton from jail early, insists he saved her life.The Sheriff appeared before the County Board of Supervisors after Hilton’s release to justify why he had initially transferred her to home confinement on June 8. He told the Board, which oversees sheriff’s funding, he authorized the release because Hilton was suffering from an undisclosed medical condition and he wanted to save her life. He says, “Our doctors said we had no solution to Hilton’s medical problems. None. As a sheriff in this county, I’m not going to let any inmate die in this jail.”"What’s worth more? A person spending time in a county jail for driving on a suspended license or a person losing her life?”"She was at a place where we couldn’t fix whatever that medical problem was with the resources we have. We knew this problem was not going to get better. We were placed in a very unusual and awkward position with Ms. Hilton.” Baca insists his decision to place Hilton in home-confinement was also motivated by a federal mandate to relieve jail overcrowding that results in early release of minor offenders.
Brooke Shields has ruled out plastic surgery because she hates the thought of being ‘trapped’ by fake breasts and facelift procedures. Shields played a sex therapist in the plastic surgery drama ‘Nip/Tuck’ and has tried Botox in the past, but she insists cosmetic enhancement is not something she’d be comfortable with. She says, “I tried, like, Botox in my forehead. I got so claustrophobic. I would get claustrophobia if I had breast implants. I’d be like, ‘Get them out, get them out.’ My husband’s very upset about that though. It’s a very foreign, man-made object in your body. I’m also attached to my face. ‘Desperate Housewives’ star James Denton has bought his own baseball team. Denton, a sports fan, is part of an Orange County, California-based investment group that has just purchased minor league team the Fullerton Flyers. The team of professionals plays in the Golden Baseball League, based in the western United States.Denton, who plays hunky Mike Delfino on the show, says, “It’s been a childhood dream of mine to own my own ball club and when presented the chance, I couldn’t say no. I think one of the first orders of business for ‘Desperate Housewives’ to try to get any big hitter in the big leagues that will suit up for me for at least one game!”
Paris Hilton spent her first day of freedom surrounded by family and well-wishers after she was released from jail. Hilton served 23 days of a 45-day sentence after being found guilty of violating her probation from a drunk-driving arrest last year. After being released from Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood, California, Hilton went straight to her grandparent’s Holmby Hills mansion. As she stayed inside throughout the day, more than a dozen cars pulled up to the gate and were quickly buzzed inside, their occupants declining to talk with reporters. Throughout the day, Hilton was sent gifts including pink balloons and a frosted cake emblazoned with the words, ‘Welcome Home.’ Her aunt says, “She’s very happy to be home, very, very happy. I think she’s just excited to be at home and be with her family.” Hilton is scheduled to be interviewed Wednesday night on CNN’s ‘Larry King Live.’
